Whoa! Horse board is $200 in downtown Moscow!

is a member of the tribe of enthusiasts particular to the Soviet Union.
People like her are a throwback to back before money eclipsed
everything else in Moscow, and are always a pleasure to meet. She looks
after 7 horses that live in a clean and very modest stable they share
with a dog and a cat. Amazingly, the horses’ owners pay just 200 dollars
a month to keep a horse there. That includes food, bathing, exercise,
the works, all at prices that most renters in Moscow haven’t seen in
years...
Seems like Russian racing is something time forgot.
You know, the largest country on earth, with scores of miles between paved roads even, is so far entirely devoid of a pack of hounds...
